In this plus level, there is a huge leap forward in time relations, with learners talking about past and future events (will and be going to). The complexity of the academic language they encounter rises rapidly and they are exposed to a deepening range of vocabulary on all of the topics that they study—for example, weather and seasons. The language for many concepts that they know from lower levels—for example, frequency and duration, becomes more complicated and there is a greater focus on the language of discussion—for instance, asking for and giving an opinion.
